  • What Should You Look for in a Webflow Design Agency?

Posted by Jessica Smith on October 1, 2026 at 1:59 am

Choosing a Webflow design agency can be surprisingly difficult because many agencies can create attractive websites, but not all of them approach a project in the same way.

I would start by looking at the agency’s previous Webflow projects. A portfolio can tell you a lot about how the team handles different industries, layouts, interactions, responsive design, and overall user experience. It is also worth looking beyond screenshots and visiting the actual websites when possible.

Communication is another factor that shouldn’t be overlooked. Website projects involve plenty of small decisions, from content structure and page layouts to animations and functionality. An agency that communicates clearly and explains why certain design decisions are being made can make the entire process easier.

I would also ask about the technical side of the project. A Webflow website shouldn’t only look good on a desktop screen. It should work properly across mobile and tablet devices, have a sensible CMS structure, use clean page organization, and be built with performance and SEO in mind.

Another useful question is whether the Webflow design agency understands your business goals. For example, a website designed to generate B2B leads may need a different structure from an ecommerce-focused site or a portfolio website. The design should support the purpose of the website rather than simply follow visual trends.

SEO experience can also be valuable. Things such as page titles, headings, URLs, internal linking, image optimization, redirects, and structured content should be considered during development rather than added as an afterthought.

Before choosing an agency, I would discuss the timeline, scope, revisions, ongoing maintenance, and exactly what is included in the project.

For me, the ideal Webflow design agency would combine creative design with usability, technical knowledge, SEO awareness, and a clear understanding of the client’s goals.
