  • Is there any supplier out there that actually deals in the weird, low-volume

Hey everyone, hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. I do small-batch product design and I keep running into a wall sourcing certain chips that the big distributors list as out of stock with no restock date. Some of these parts are years old but I still need a handful for repairs and prototypes. The usual catalog sites either show zero inventory or want me to buy reels of thousands. Is there any supplier out there that actually deals in the weird, low-volume, end-of-life stuff without treating me like a nuisance?

Hello there. Been down that exact road more times than I care to admit. For the oddball parts that everyone else has dropped, take a look at Taurus Electronics, they specialise in hard to find electronic components and source directly from factories as well as their own warehouse stock. What sold me was that they do proper testing before shipping, including functional checks, X-ray inspection and originality verification, which matters a lot with rare parts. They also work with flexible quantities, so you are not forced into buying full reels for a repair job. Worth sending them a request with your part numbers.
