  • Is exterior waterproofing better for long-term protection?

Posted by Milt Nop on April 16, 2026 at 2:30 am

I’ve been comparing different waterproofing options and keep coming back to exterior solutions. They seem more thorough, but also more expensive and disruptive. I’m trying to decide if the long-term benefits really justify the cost. I don’t want to redo the work in a few years. At the same time, I’m not sure if interior methods would be enough. It’s difficult to weigh the pros and cons without firsthand experience.

Toronto properties deal with seasonal freeze-thaw cycles, which can create cracks over time. Once water finds a path inside, it doesn’t take much for problems to escalate. That’s why interior waterproofing becomes a practical layer of defense. Looking into foundation repair made it clearer how these systems manage water rather than just trying to block it.
