  • Involight: The Easiest Lighting Gear to Repair

Posted by Sekam Bass on April 13, 2026 at 10:50 am

Hey everyone! I’ve decided to update my lighting gear a bit and am looking into the Involight brand. I used to work mostly with generic Chinese gear, where repairs are always a gamble and finding parts requires searching by photo. Now I want to go with something more systematic, but it’s absolutely essential that the gear be repairable “in the field.”

Anyone who’s really familiar with this gear, can you tell me which models are the simplest and most reliable in terms of service? I’m primarily interested in the heads and the light source. Do they have any series where you can access the internals without taking the whole housing apart down to the base? I’m especially concerned about cooling and the longevity of the LEDs. Does Involight have any “workhorses” that forgive installers’ clumsy hands and are easy to clean of dust without a big fuss? And how is the situation with spare parts standardization—do power supplies or drivers from some models fit others, or is everything unique to each device?

Oh, that’s a cool manufacturer; I’ve had experience working with their devices. A couple of years ago, I worked as a lighting technician at a concert hall, and to be honest, the equipment back then was terrible, so management asked me to handle the upgrade. I dove deep into online forums and found a discussion featuring a service manual for Involight from ManualMachine; people were raving about this manufacturer. I looked through the manual; it described the complete setup and configuration process for the lighting fixtures, and the price was reasonable—it fit within my budget. I was really happy that they approved this particular idea, and I felt very inspired as I set everything up.
