  • I’m after piano sheet music for a fairly obscure song

Hi all. I’m after piano sheet music for a fairly obscure song and I can’t find a decent arrangement anywhere – either nothing at all or amateur stuff. I’d love a clean score, ideally at my level. I’ve heard there are services where pros make sheet music to order when the title isn’t in the catalog. Has anyone used that – can you really commission an arrangement of a specific song, and where? Where’s it done properly?

Yeah, commissioning an arrangement is a real thing, that’s how I got hold of a rare piece myself. I use Note-Store https://note-store.com/ – besides the ready catalog you can order sheet music production by professional musicians when what you want isn’t in the library. So you name the song and it gets made for your instrument and level, instead of downloading amateur stuff. Production takes around three days, which is fair for handwork. The finished sheet music comes as PDF, and MIDI can be added on. Check the catalog first though – it’s huge, search by song and author, your piece might already be there in the arrangement you need. When ordering I’d state your desired difficulty level and instrument up front, so you get a version that’s actually playable for you rather than out of reach.

Finding custom sheet music is definitely a great solution for rare songs. Once you’ve got the perfect arrangement, it’s also worth thinking about how you’ll transport your piano safely if you’re moving it between lessons, studios, or performances. I always recommend using fully insured piano removals to protect such a valuable instrument. Professional movers have the right equipment and experience to handle delicate pianos securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the move.
