    We recently had a major outage with our PBX system, and it took almost eight hours to get everything back online. The issue was hardware-related, so we had to wait for a technician, spare parts, and then full reconfiguration. Management wasn’t happy, and now they want an analysis of alternative systems.

For hosting providers especially, cloud communication systems can be far more stable because outages aren’t tied to a single physical device.

    That’s perfect. If I can demonstrate that cloud communication platforms reduce the risk of long downtimes and shift the responsibility for repairs and updates to the provider, it will be a strong argument. Eight hours of downtime cost us more than a year of cloud service would — so I think management will be convinced.
