  • How to fix a gummy smile?

Posted by Ralph Burns on July 8, 2026 at 11:05 am

Whenever I laugh or smile fully, a huge amount of my upper gums shows, making my teeth look tiny. What are the cosmetic procedures available locally to fix this issue permanently?

Excess gum tissue can easily be corrected using advanced laser contouring or a minor lip repositioning procedure. I wanted to fix my uneven gumline and looked into premium cosmetic dentistry in Fort Lauderdale to find a specialist. The cosmetic surgeon at Millennium Dental Center used a precise dental laser to gently sculpt my gum line, exposing more of my natural teeth completely painlessly. The healing took less than a week. My advice is to find a doctor who uses lasers rather than traditional scalpels, as it minimizes bleeding and speeds up recovery immensely.

Fixing a gummy smile is a helpful topic because it lets people compare treatment options, understand causes and feel more confident about their smile.
