  • How do you manage human hair bundles when working out 4+ times a week?

Working out four or more days a week puts your hair through a serious gauntlet of sweat, heat, and constant friction. Sweat is packed with natural salts that quickly leach moisture right out of human hair bundles, leaving you with dry ends and frustrating tangles around the nape of your neck if you leave it unmanaged.

To keep your hair looking fresh without cutting back on your gym routine, follow these essentials:

    • Lock it up high: Pull your hair into a high pineapple, a top-knot, or loose braids before starting your workout. Keeping the hair off your neck minimises friction and keeps sweat from soaking the strands.
    • Wrap your edges: Secure a silk scarf or sweat-wicking athletic headband around your hairline to catch sweat before it hits your tracks.
    • Never brush damp hair: Resist the urge to comb out your hair while it’s still damp from a session. Let your scalp and bundles air-dry completely—or hit them with a cool blow-dryer—before brushing.
    • Flush out salt: Don’t fall victim to using too many shampoos that strip hair. Instead, use a hydrating co-wash once a week to help break down the salt trapped in hair.
    • Moisturise tips: After hair dries up, apply a light oil, jojoba or argan oil, to your hair tips to help retain the healthy feel of them.
