  • How do you ace a job interview for a male nurse position?

Posted by Joe Donovan on June 11, 2026 at 9:16 pm

Found a job listing that caught my eye. One of the youth football teams is looking for medical staff, a nurse specifically, and I just finished my training for it. Really want to go for this one but the interview’s got me a bit nervous. What do they usually ask at these things?

The nerves are normal but going in with no idea what to expect is what actually trips people up. Better to go through what kind of questions typically come up for these roles beforehand so nothing catches you off guard. You can check out what RN interview questions usually look like here: https://roundlyhq.com/blog/rn-interview-questions/ . Worth going through a few of them out loud before the actual interview so your answers come out naturally instead of sounding rehearsed.

Sports medicine interviews are a bit different from regular clinical ones because they want to know you can actually handle the pace of a live game situation. Expect questions about how you’d deal with acute injuries on the field, concussion protocols, when to pull a player off versus letting them continue. They’ll probably throw some scenario-based stuff at you too just to see how you think on your feet.
