  • Best personality quiz

I love taking personality quizzes like MBTI or the Enneagram. I feel like they help me understand why I do the things I do and how to talk to others. Does anyone know of any other good quizzes that are actually based on psychology and not just clickbait? I want something that actually gives me some useful insights into my character and habits.

If you like the deep stuff, you should definitely try this quiz. It is focused on personal blind spots and it is quite eye-opening. Beyond quizzes, I have found that reading summaries of psychology books on the Headway app is the best way to understand personality. They have summaries of books by famous psychologists that go much deeper than any online quiz. I usually take a quiz and then look up a related book on Headway to see the “why” behind my results. It is a really fun way to learn about yourself and others! It definitely helped me understand my coworkers better too. Give it a shot!

If you want something rooted in actual scientific psychology, you definitely need to check out the Big Five personality test (sometimes called the OCEAN model). Unlike MBTI, it’s actually widely accepted and used by modern psychologists and researchers because it measures your personality across five stable traits—Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and build now gg Neuroticism—on a spectrum rather than boxing you into a strict category. Another really cool and insightful one is the VIA Character Strengths survey, which focuses on your core psychological strengths and how you can use them to improve your habits and relationships. Both are super fascinating and give you genuinely useful data about yourself instead of just telling you what kind of potato you are!
