Before agreeing to replace everything that got wet, I’d get someone to inspect the damaged areas and write up exactly what can stay and what actually needs to come out. Contractors can give very different scopes for the same house, and a detailed estimate makes those quotes much easier to compare. I’d also ask for the work to be broken down by room, so you can see where the money is going before signing anything.
