Where to buy an apartment while working in Gibraltar?
My company is moving me to Gibraltar next spring, and the contract runs for at least five years. They’ll cover temporary housing for the first six months, which gives my wife and me time to find and buy an apartment on the Spanish side. I can handle a reasonable commute, and she wants a town that has a life beyond people driving to the border every morning. We aren’t familiar with that stretch of coast yet. Which places should we check, and where can we browse current listings?

A home right beside the office sounds convenient, but it can make every day feel centered on work. A place across the border would give the two of you a clearer line between the job and the rest of the day. Take a look at Manilva. It’s close enough for the commute, but it still feels like its own coastal town.

The shortest commute isn’t the whole decision, since your life there won’t begin and end with the office. After work and on weekends, you’ll appreciate having more than a handful of streets and restaurants nearby. Estepona is worth considering too. It’s farther from Gibraltar than Manilva, but you’ll have a much larger town around you once the workday ends. Test the route during weekday traffic before choosing between the two.
