  • Quick Fixes for Front Lace Wigs That Lift or Slip Mid-Day

Posted by Sofia Jones on August 23, 2026 at 11:31 pm

There’s nothing more frustrating than spending time installing your front lace wigs, only to notice the lace lifting or the wig shifting a few hours later. Sweat, humidity, scalp oils, and simply moving around during the day can all loosen the hold. The good news is that you can usually fix the problem without taking the wig off completely.

If you’re experiencing a small piece or area that is lifting, all you need to do is wipe clean the oil or moisture surrounding the area and pat it to allow it to dry. Next, apply a tiny bit of lace adhesive to the lifting part and hold down on the lace until it has bonded together for just a few seconds. Don’t use a lot of product because heavy build-up will make it harder to apply again in the future.

If your wig is sliding as opposed to lifting, check to see if it fits well enough.

Make sure straps are adjusted correctly; you may want to add one of those elastic strips used underneath lace front. If you will sweat in your wig, add that on too, as well as grab a thin tissue to dab sweat at your temples. Another good piece of advice is to not touch your wig or readjust it over and over, as that can affect the way of working, and, voilà- you can wear your wig comfortably all day from sun-up to sundown!
