Palace on Wheels – A Dream Journey Through Royal Rajasthan
Hi everyone!
Just returned from an unforgettable trip aboard the <strong data-start=”1927″ data-end=”1947″>Palace on Wheels, and I can’t stop thinking about it. This journey truly lives up to its reputation as one of the <strong data-start=”2045″ data-end=”2075″>world’s best luxury trains.
<b data-start=”2080″ data-end=”2101″>The Journey
From the moment you board in Delhi, it’s like stepping into a time machine. The carriages are decorated in Rajasthani royal themes, and each coach has its own attendant (called “Khidmatgar”) who makes sure you’re comfortable throughout.

<ul data-start=”2363″ data-end=”2740″><strong data-start=”2365″ data-end=”2388″>Amber Fort, Jaipur: Riding an elephant up to the fort felt like a royal procession.
<strong data-start=”2457″ data-end=”2480″>Ranthambore Safari: Saw two tigers — total highlight!
<strong data-start=”2519″ data-end=”2545″>Jaisalmer Desert Camp: Cultural dance performance under the stars — magical.
<strong data-start=”2604″ data-end=”2626″>Udaipur Boat Ride: The sunset over Lake Pichola was breathtaking.
<strong data-start=”2678″ data-end=”2699″>Taj Mahal Finale: The perfect ending to a royal journey.
<b data-start=”2742″ data-end=”2764″>Onboard Life
Two restaurants (Maharaja & Maharani) serve exquisite meals, and the bar lounge is great for evening chats. Each night ends with entertainment or just relaxing with fellow travelers.
<b data-start=”2951″ data-end=”2968″>Pro Tip
Book early, travel between <strong data-start=”2996″ data-end=”3017″>October and March, and carry light traditional wear — it looks amazing in photos and fits the royal vibe!
This trip reminded me that India’s heritage isn’t just in monuments — it’s in the experiences.
Has anyone here tried other Indian luxury trains like <strong data-start=”3261″ data-end=”3287″>The Maharajas’ Express or <strong data-start=”3291″ data-end=”3313″>The Golden Chariot? Curious how they compare!
