Moving between Aptos and Sui can feel a bit like keeping track of several sports tournaments at the same time. The basic idea is familiar, but each ecosystem has its own projects, assets, and transaction activity to follow. When experimenting through the martian app https://martianwallet.co/ , I think the best starting point is not depositing more crypto but deciding which account will be used for exploration and what should remain separate. If a new DeFi or NFT project catches my attention, I would avoid connecting an address containing most of my assets. Creating or selecting another account for testing gives the experiment a clear boundary. I would transfer only what I expect to use, check which network is active, and read the permissions requested by the dApp. If an application wants access that seems excessive for its purpose, there is no reason to approve it simply because the martian app makes the connection convenient. The same cautious approach applies to transfers. Before moving a substantial amount to an address I have never used, I prefer sending a small test transaction. Once it arrives correctly, I can proceed with greater confidence. It costs another network fee, which is an obvious drawback, but that small expense can be worthwhile when it verifies the address and transfer route before a larger amount is involved. Balance displays can also require some interpretation. Tokens use different decimal structures, so the raw amount stored on-chain may be represented differently in the wallet interface. Network congestion can delay processing, and transaction parameters such as gas settings may influence how quickly an operation completes. If something displayed in the martian app looks strange immediately after a transaction, I would first check the blockchain record instead of assuming there is a wallet malfunction. Separate accounts are useful for organization as well as risk management. Someone could keep one address for NFT activity, another for DeFi experiments, and a more isolated account for assets intended to remain untouched for longer periods. The disadvantage is having more addresses to manage, so clear labeling and careful account selection become important. Still, I prefer that to connecting valuable holdings directly to every new Web3 project I want to investigate. Unrequested tokens are another situation where curiosity can become a problem. If an unknown asset suddenly appears in the martian app, I would inspect its origin and asset information independently before interacting with it. A random token claiming to offer a reward is not automatically legitimate. I would be particularly suspicious if its name or metadata encouraged me to visit an unfamiliar website or approve a contract.
