    Main Local and Popular Brands

    1. Du Maurier

One of the most well-known and best-selling brands in Canada, with a long history. Du Maurier cigarettes offer a balanced, rich flavor and are available in several varieties (such as classic and light).

    2. Canadian Classics

A very popular “classic” Canadian brand with a traditional flavor and a well-recognized tobacco formula.

    3. Player’s

Occupies a significant market share – known for its reliable, medium-strength draw and consistent quality.

    4. Export “A”

Another classic brand with a strong, rich flavor – especially popular in the west of the country.

    5. Peter Jackson

A traditional brand with a smoother, more balanced draw, suitable for those who prefer a milder sensation.

In addition to the above, the following are also frequently found:

Belmont – a classic tobacco flavor, has been on the market for a long time.

Rothmans (including Benson & Hedges) are premium/mid-priced brands from major manufacturers’ portfolios.

BB Full Flavor, DK’s, and Discount are more budget-friendly cigarette options. Time, Nexus, and Oakdale are brands often chosen for their price or distinctive flavor.

    Imported and International Brands

Some international brands can also be found in Canada, but they are often offered in a smaller selection than in the US. Sometimes people find Marlboro, Camel, or Winston, especially in specialty stores or in regions near the border, but the selection may be limited and the price higher. You can also find IQOS heets sticks in almost all tobacco shops.

Characteristics of the Canadian Cigarette Market

Tobacco products are subject to strict regulations in many provinces (including packaging requirements and a ban on flavored cigarettes). Due to strict regulations, cigarette names may not be displayed in bright colors on packaging, but the brand remains recognizable by name and format.
