  • Getting rid of a regret tattoo in LA

Posted by Anthony Fleetwood on March 5, 2026 at 3:35 pm

Few years back I got some ink that seemed like a great idea at the time. Now I look at it and just shake my head at how stupid it looks. Been considering my options here, either find a laser removal spot in LA or see if someone can cover it with a better design. Which route makes more sense?

Tattoos are just messing up your body permanently, honestly shouldn’t have gotten into that whole thing in the first place. Now you’re stuck dealing with the consequences of a decision you made when you weren’t thinking straight. Removal hurts like hell and costs a fortune, takes multiple sessions over months. Cover ups often end up looking worse because you’re limited by what’s already there, the artist has to work around dark ink and scarring. Maybe this whole mess will teach you not to permanently mark your skin with trends that won’t age well.

Covering it up can actually be the better option sometimes because you end up with a new interesting design that hides those youthful mistakes. Laser removal leaves your skin completely blank but takes forever and the pain is no joke, plus it’s expensive as hell. A skilled artist can transform something embarrassing into actual art that you’ll be proud to show off. You should check out examples of cover up tattoos that artists do in Los Angeles here: https://rinattattarin.com/blog/tpost/cover-up-tattoo-los-angeles-laser-lightening-expert-transformation . They show before and after shots so you can see how even really bad pieces can turn into something worth keeping on your body.
