  • Anyone else having lag or freeze issues in Urban Strike X (Android game)?

    Hey guys 👋

I’m not sure if this is the right place, but since there’s a gaming section here, I wanted to ask if anyone else has been playing the mobile action game <strong data-start=”789″ data-end=”807″>Urban Strike X recently. It’s been trending on a few Android gaming pages, and I thought it would be fun to try — but I’ve been struggling with crazy lag and freezing issues since I installed it last week. 😩

So here’s what’s happening — the game installs fine, runs smoothly for the first 2–3 minutes, and then suddenly freezes in the middle of missions. Sometimes it even closes completely without any error message. What’s weird is that my phone isn’t even low-end. I’ve got a <strong data-start=”1276″ data-end=”1313″>Samsung A20 (Android 10, 3GB RAM) and I can play PUBG Mobile or Call of Duty without any issue. But this one just doesn’t behave normally.

I thought maybe my Wi-Fi was acting up, but even in offline missions, the problem stays the same. I tried reinstalling, clearing cache, and turning off all background apps. Nothing worked. I even tried switching the graphics to “low” in the settings menu — still, after a few minutes of gameplay, boom! Freeze.

Has anyone faced this same issue with <strong data-start=”1774″ data-end=”1792″>Urban Strike X or maybe a similar action shooter game? It’s got awesome features — first-person combat, car chases, and helicopter missions — but the bugs make it almost unplayable.

One thing I noticed: when the screen freezes, the background music keeps playing for a few seconds, and then the whole app crashes. That kind of makes me think it’s either a <strong data-start=”2137″ data-end=”2152″>memory leak or <strong data-start=”2156″ data-end=”2173″>GPU rendering issue. I read somewhere that some newer games use heavy shaders that older mid-range phones can’t handle properly. Could that be the case?

I also went through a few forums and Reddit threads where players were suggesting using a “game booster” app or disabling certain permissions. But I’m always a bit skeptical about installing random booster apps — half of them just spam ads or drain battery.

Here’s what I’ve already tried so far:

    1. Cleared app cache & storage

    2. Disabled Play Protect (someone said it blocks some mods or custom textures)

    3. Restarted phone after installation

    4. Gave storage & permission access manually

    5. Used “Performance Mode” in device settings

Still, the same issue happens. Sometimes I can play one or two missions fine, but during a boss fight or car chase, the lag kicks in out of nowhere and ruins everything.

Another weird thing is the <strong data-start=”3069″ data-end=”3081″>controls. Sometimes they just stop responding — like the fire button or reload won’t work for 5–10 seconds, even though the game is still running. It’s super frustrating, especially during multiplayer.

I joined a small Discord server of Urban Strike X players, and a few people there said they’re also facing crashes since the last update (v1.7.3). Some said rolling back to the older version (v1.6.9) fixed the issue. Has anyone here tried that?

Also, if anyone knows how to <strong data-start=”3555″ data-end=”3594″>manually back up the OBB/data files so I can reinstall without losing progress, please guide me. I’ve only done that once for another game and don’t want to mess things up.

I really enjoy the game — the missions are creative, especially the rooftop chase and stealth levels. The developers clearly put in effort; the lighting and physics are impressive for mobile. That’s why I don’t want to uninstall it yet.

I just wish the devs would optimize it a bit more for mid-range Android devices. Maybe a patch or lighter graphics update would fix things. I even emailed their support but haven’t heard back yet.

So yeah, if anyone has experience fixing lag, freezing, or black-screen issues in action games like this, please drop your suggestions. I’d appreciate any help — even basic troubleshooting steps.

Oh, and if you know a safe and verified source for older versions or patch notes (not random APK sites full of ads), please let me know. I’m fine reinstalling if it means I can play without crashes
