  • How do I find my UTR number?

Posted by accbyte on February 27, 2025 at 6:48 am

The UTR (Unique Taxpayer Reference) is a 10 digit code which HMRC gives out to the individuals and businesses for their tax purpose. To locate your UTR number, you can pay by checking back tax returns, HMRC correspondence or online within HMRC. It is also available on documents associated with self-assessment tax filings. Though you can contact HMRC directly then, you may have to verify your identity. UTR number is important for tax related activities like filing self-assessment tax returns and managing tax obligations well.
