  • Proper Etiquette for Displaying the U.S. Flag Indoors—Vertical or Horizontal?

    Hi everyone,

    I’m setting up a small community exhibit honoring veterans, and I want to include the U.S. flag as a central part of the display. The space is indoors, and the wall I plan to hang the flag on is pretty tall and narrow. I’ve seen flags displayed both horizontally and vertically in indoor settings, but I want to make sure I follow proper etiquette and respect the symbolism of the flag.

    If I hang it <strong data-start=”699″ data-end=”713″>vertically, should the union (the blue field with stars) be on the observer’s <strong data-start=”781″ data-end=”789″>left or <strong data-start=”793″ data-end=”802″>right?

    Also, are there specific rules or recommendations for lighting or positioning indoors that I should keep in mind?
