  • Benefits of youth football academies

Posted by Brandon Harris on June 6, 2025 at 1:02 am

My neighbor’s kid joined a football academy last year, and the difference in his confidence is unreal. He’s making friends, eating better, and can’t stop talking about the new tricks he’s learning. Makes me wonder if these academies actually help kids in the long run, or if it’s just a fun phase.

Youth football academies do way more than just teach the game. I was reading about it the other day in an article https://footballexpress.in/breaking-indias-cricket-monopoly-diversifying-sports-investment/, and it covers how these places help kids develop discipline, teamwork, and even leadership skills. My own cousin went from being super shy to leading his team on the field, and that confidence carried over to his studies and everyday life. Plus, even if the kids don’t go pro, they come out healthier and with friends they wouldn’t have met otherwise. Feels like a win-win to me.

Sometimes I think the best part about these academies is just seeing kids have something positive to focus on. It’s cool to see groups of them out on the field, laughing and learning, instead of being stuck at home on their phones.
